Reverse Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis is a water treatment process that removes undesirable materials from water by using pressure to force the water molecules through a semi permeable membrane. The process is similar to forcing water from the outside of a balloon through the walls of the balloon to the inside of the balloon. This is referred to as "reverse" osmosis because the pressure forces the water in the reverse direction (from concentrated solution to dilute solution) to the flow direction (from the dilute to the concentrated) in the natural process of osmosis.

Reverse Osmosis removes salts, sodium, colloids, and organic molecules down to a molecular weight of 100.

Also know as Hyper filtration.
